TOKYO (Nikkei)--The long-term growth of Asian economies is the result of cooperation, and further measures to integrate will allow the region to realize its potential, Nguyen Thien Nhan, deputy prime minister of Vietnam, said Thursday in Tokyo.

He proposed creating six forums to facilitate cooperation among nations at the 19th International Conference on The Future of Asia.

"In order to maintain dynamic growth, and contribute to a more stable and prosperous region, we need to strengthen cooperation and integration in six areas," Nhan said.

Asia should deepen its cooperation in trade and investment liberalization, human resources development, transport services, water resources, global warming and cybersecurity, he argued.

Nhan said that forums in each of these areas should be established in Asia to share ideas.

Titles of speakers, names of companies, etc., were correct as of the time when the forum was held.
