Malaysia PM: Asia Must Play Key Role In Global Economy

TOKYO (Nikkei)--Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak said Thursday that the East Asian community should overcome national and regional differences to emerge as an important player in the global economy.

Speaking at the Future of Asia conference organized by The Nikkei and the Japan Center for Economic Research, the Malaysian leader said that East Asia played an important role in reviving the international economy when the global financial crisis struck in 2008.
