Ex-Malaysia Prime Minister Urges China To Act Responsibly

TOKYO (Nikkei)--Mahathir bin Mohamad, former prime minister of Malaysia, called on China Friday to act responsibly in global affairs, saying it has now become a global power.

Speaking about China's interaction with other countries at a Tokyo forum, the former prime minister said China also depends on the rest of the world to meet its consumption needs.

The Future of Asia forum is being sponsored by Nikkei Inc. and will close Friday evening.
