Peking Univ Professor Urges Keeping Open-Door Policy

TOKYO (Nikkei)--Zhou Qiren, dean at Peking University's National School of Development, called on China to continue its open-door policy to sustain growth even after the economic crisis.

At the 16th International Conference on the Future of Asia, hosted by the Nikkei through Friday, Zhou said expanding both imports and exports is more important than curbing China's exports, stressing that it is necessary to maintain balance in overall trade to promote sound globalization.
