S Korea To Promote 'Green' Biz To Spur Growth: Researcher

TOKYO (Nikkei)--South Korea will promote "Green New Deal" projects to foster businesses related to environmental protection -- such as the use of renewable energy -- and to create jobs, with the broader goal of achieving further economic growth, Boo Kyung-Jin, senior fellow at Korea Energy Economics Institute, said at a Tokyo forum on Thursday.

In a panel discussion at the 16th International Conference on the Future of Asia, Boo said the South Korean government will implement a comprehensive five-year green growth plan covering the private and public sectors, as well as individuals.
